New
Exhibit! 'Life in the Carolina Backcountry'
We have a beautiful new Temporary
Exhibit!
This new exhibit is an
extraordinary collection of original paintings by local Union County
artist,
Barbara Funderburk, of Monroe, NC.
Ms.
Funderburke's deep interest in history and her appreciation of Union
County's heritage prompted her to create a series of genre paintings of
Colonial life in the Carolinas Backcountry. The results are stunning! There are
12 completed original paintings on display, with more paintings planned
for the collection that will be added to the exhibit as they are
completed.
This beautiful new exhibit of paintings will be on display at the
Museum through the first of the year. The paintings are available
for sale, with a portion of the proceeds being donated by Ms.
Funderburk to the Museum. A tour of this new exhibit is included
with our regular Museum Admission.
