What is domain hosting?

Domain hosting allows any company who does not want to invest in a dedicated connection to the Internet or the investment in maintaining and administering an internet server to establish their presence on the Internet in a very cost effective manner. To any user, your domain and its functionality looks just like a domain would from a Fortune 500 company.

What does Perigee.net provide?

• We will administrate your domain at our facility.
• We will provide virtual e-mail services and provide up to 10 e-mail aliases for your domain uses.
• The Virtual WWW Server will appear to your customers as your own dedicated WWW server.
• Your URL address will be http://www.your-domain.com "NOT" http://www.your-domain.com/your-domain.com that other providers offer. You will have your own "_parent" level URL address.
• 500MB - 2GB of disk space on a WWW server.
• Support for PHP Server side scripting. The best, fastest, eastiest, most documented, easiest to learn (ok you get the message) server side coding environment available!
• Your own SQL database with an easy to use web based administration program for complete control of your database!
• Shopping Cart scripts for eCommerce - Perl and PHP versions available
• Each Virtual WWW Server generates a private access log. The access log will report the fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) of the client (IP address if FQDN unavailable), the date, time, name of page, and object accessed each time a browser accesses your Web pages.

Domain facts:

• You may have numbers Example: edge1.com
• You may have a "-" dash but not "_" under score Example: perigee-net
• Do not include www, we will alias the www after the domain name is registered. You will have both http://your-domain.com and http://www.your-domain.com
• Always include either .com .org or .net after your domain name when using the Whois query form. Non-profits may use .org and .net is available, but may take longer to register then .com

   

• After you select a valid domain name, send us your domain name, company name, address, description of business, and the name of the person that you would like the domain name registered under. We will take care of registering the domain name and notifying you when the name is approved. The domain name registration process takes between 1 day and 2 weeks.
